Can you believe Christmas is only one week away? I remember when I was a kid and counted down the days, which seemed to drag on forever. I don't know when it happened that I became an adult and the days fly by instead of dragging!

Shop Small 2013

Alright. I've written about Small Business Saturday several times already so hopefully you're picking up that it's something I think is very important.

Small business owners (like us) devote an incredible amount of time and energy to our craft. We are constantly discussing potential new scents to add, tweaks to our product line, improvements to our branding and packaging, and how we can better serve our customers overall.

When we moved from TX to PA, we made the decision that I would stop working a full-time corporate job and instead get a part-time job in order to devote more time and attention to Badger Lather. It hasn't been easy, but it has been wonderful.

I can't tell you how much I enjoy connecting with each of you on Facebook or on our blog. We truly do take to heart any and all feedback we receive and it helps us to serve you better.

We certainly are not the only ones with a story like this. I personally know many different small business owners and every single one of them devotes as much time and energy as we do. It's hard work, but so rewarding.

Here are two specific things you can do on Saturday (or everyday) to help:

1. Place an order! Christmas shopping anyone?
2. Share our Facebook page with your friends! We need your help getting the word out about our products.

New Website!

We've been talking about it for a while, folks, and now it's almost here! Our brand new website should roll out late tonight or early tomorrow if all goes as planned! It's been a lot of hard work and we are really excited for you to see it!

Some of the features include simplified ordering, more streamlined look and feel, and this blog is integrated directly into the site! We're thrilled!

Fall Refresh!

Our Etsy shop is finally all refreshed with photos of our new packaging! Since it's all out there for you to see, I thought I'd just highlight a few of the new details.

First, every kit now comes shipped in one of these adorable wooden baskets.

Our shave soap is now poured into a round tin with a lid featuring our new logo (designed by our friends at Dapper Design)!

And finally, the bottles containing the pre-shave oil and aftershave now have a feature inside the the opening to slow down the flow of the products. They are flask shaped instead of round, and we put a burlap band around each one. Plus they are completely leak proof and now have a tamper evident seal. Yippee!

Happy October!

Can you believe it's October already?! Before we know it the chill in the air will turn bitterly cold and everyone will start reaching for those winter coats and gloves. This will be our first "real" winter in a few years so we're anxious to see how much we like it. Texas has brutal summers but I must say I thoroughly enjoyed getting to wear my flip flops about 10 months out of every year! :)

We're gearing up for many exciting things that happen in the fall/winter months. Obviously Christmas is on it's way and it'll be busy busy busy around here! But before that, we'll celebrate No Shave November! We're planning a contest with a great giveaway at the end of the month. Spread the word so you and your friends can be part of this great beard race, and stay tuned for contest details!

Also in November, we'll celebrate Small Business Saturday. For obvious reasons, this one is near and dear to our hearts. We try to "shop small" whenever we can. As a small business, we certainly understand the hours of hard work that go into building a business and all the challenges you meet along the way. It isn't always easy, and we don't always succeed, but we believe in small business! Please consider how you might be part of this day set aside each year to support small business owners like us.

We're still working on the website revamp and hope to have that out to you soon!

Tis the Season to be Married!

Weddings. You spend a lot of time and energy planning for one and have a million and one details to worry about to make sure your day is special and memorable. When it comes around to gifts for your groomsmen, you want to find something neat and unique.

{Almost} Around the World in 30 days

It occurred to me the other day that Matt and I have been in 13 different states in the last 30 days! Our friends and family are starting to call us "the Gypsies" and I have to admit we have felt like that recently!

Before our big move, we made a trip to Wichita KS (my hometown!) to visit family for a bit before we moved so far away again.

After that we made our big drive from Fort Worth to Philadelphia. The trip was 30-ish hours over two days and across six states of quality time in the car with our two pups. We made lots of memories! :)

Two weeks after we got here we left for a week long family vacation at the beach which included about 24 more hours in the car together round trip. The vacation was so fun and very timely, and surprisingly Philly felt like home when we got back!

Through all the craziness of the last month, I can't help but be reminded how blessed we are! We have seen some extremely beautiful parts of the country recently!

Back up and Running!

Hello everyone! In case you missed it, we have moved! We used to be based out of Fort Worth, but due to a job change for Matt we are now in Philadelphia! We are beyond excited to be in a new city to build more connections and spread the word about Badger Lather more than before.

Some more exciting news is that I (Sandi) am now taking care of the business full time! I am thrilled to take a break from being an Administrative Assistant and dive into the world of being 100% a small business owner. No doubt it will be challenging and rewarding at the same time.

Shop News!

It's hard to believe we started Badger Lather almost a year ago! Our one year anniversary will be on April 1! 

The weekend we started the business, we visited my (Sandi's) parents in Wichita KS for the weekend. While we were there, mom and I stopped in a place called The Cottage Collective. It is the absolute cutest little vintage-y little shop with several different small business vendors. I joked with mom about how neat it would be if we could be in a place like that some day. 

Well...I'm happy to announce that for the month of March we are a featured artist at The Cottage! It is an absolute honor to be featured in a group of such amazing, talented artists. Absolutley a dream come true!

The Cottage is celebrating their One Year Birthday on March 16, so if you're in Wichita make sure you stop by and check it out!
